Own Your Share of the Co-op
Dear Wild Root Market Supporter:
Beginning August 1, 2011, we began to accept equity share payments. While 242 supporters became Owners during the month of August (and will forever be distinguished as “Founding Owners”), we’re happy to have you become an Owner any time. In fact, those who join between September 1, 2011, to before the doors open will be considered “Pioneering Owners”. Join these committed supporters who understand the significance of having a full-service grocery co-op in their backyard.
A full equity share in Wild Root Market costs $200, but, in an effort to make it simple and painless to own a share of the co-op, you may pay in installments. Simply print the Owner Subscription Form and send it with your first $50 payment. You will then be asked to pay an additional $50/quarter thereafter until your full equity share is paid. (Note: the full equity share is not an “annual fee”.)
While unlikely, it’s important to acknowledge that if the feasibility studies or unforeseen obstacles deem the project unviable, we would not move forward. If this were to happen, remaining installments would be cancelled and unspent monies would be returned to Owners in a proportionate manner, consistent with Wisconsin law.
In an effort to be frugal and green, our Owners Campaign is being largely conducted electronically (we do have a limited number of brochures available). We ask you to recruit other Owners by spreading the word about Wild Root Market through your social media, email, congregation, office, etc., or by asking us to speak at an event or hosting a house party. Owner recruitment never ends and its up to all of us to continually grow our ownership base. Oftentimes, your own reason for becoming an Owner is the best, most effective endorsement. So ask your circles of friends, colleagues and family to consider Wild Root Market Co-op ownership.
